Botulinum toxins are licensed to treat migraines and works by relaxing muscles in the face and scalp, and it was observed that the muscle relaxation led to significant improvements in the number and severity of migraines that those having this treatment for cosmetic reasons experienced. It is now used for migraines routinely, sometimes on the NHS, and it can have a really positive impact on quality of life.
